Exakta Varex, Dresden 1950-51,
Schneider Xenar 105mm/3.5 bellows lens.
This combination focuses all the way from 1 cm for extreme close-ups (macro), to a few metres for portraits, to infinity for landscapes.
It would have been used in laboratories or clinics, or outdoors for entomology or botany.
The same camera from the rear.
A magnifying viewing lens is inserted in place of the standard viewfinder, in order to facilitate focusing.
The knob on the right is a special feature, a precision clockwork timer for timed delays up to 12 seconds, or long exposures up to 12 seconds.
